ONE SHOT PREVIEW | DAD'S GAZE
WHY I LOVE THIS WEDDING PHOTO
I often try to get this shot. A “look through” shot of either mum or dad watching on pensively.
This is one of my favourites of these type of shots from this beautiful wedding ceremony I shot in June this year at York House in Twickenham.
While I was editing this image, I found myself captivated and wondering just exactly what the dad is thinking. I imagine it’s happiness mixed with just a tiny bit of sadness at the child becoming a woman. Such a proud moment !
Moments like this always hit me, and I do my best to keep it together while I hide behind the lens. The couple have no idea what’s going on behind them during the ceremony which is why It’s so, so important for me that I capture wedding photos like this for all my couples.
I hope you like this wedding photo as much as I do.
